Coaches snapped up the transfer portalquarterbacks in a hurry. Of the 27 highest-rated quarterbacks from the winter window, only one remains uncommitted heading into the New Year. Ironically, it is the player who made waves months ago with his high-profile exit: former UNLV quarterback Matthew Sluka. There are still some sneaky talented passers up for grabs in 2025, including several former four-star recruits.
The college football transfer portal winter window is technically closed with the exception for those competing in the postseason, whether that be bowl games or the College Football Playoff.Just because the transfer portal winter window is closed does not mean movement will slow down any time soon.An additional spring window is set for 10 days, opening April 16 and closing April 25, which expects tospark another wave of quarterback transfers.

In three games, Sluka completed 43.8% of his passes for 318 yards and six touchdowns with an interception. He also rushed for 253 yards and a touchdown on 39 carries. During his time at FCS Holy Cross, Sluka threw for nearly 6,000 yards and 59 touchdowns while rushing for 3,579 yards and 38 touchdowns.

Still, he remains the backup for the Buckeyes during the College Football Playoff run. Brown spent the past three years with the Buckeyes, competing for the starting job the past two before serving as a backup. In 17 total games played at Ohio State, Brown completed 56.8% of his passes for 331 yards and three touchdowns with one interception. He also rushed for 37 yards and a touchdown on 30 carries.

TheBaylorquarterback transferred in fromToledo, but ended up playing in just three games, completing 23 of 43 passes for 307 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions. During his previous five years at Toledo, Finn appeared in 45 games, completing 60.3% of his passes for 7,083 yards and 63 touchdowns with 23 interceptions. He added 1,841 yards and 25 touchdowns on the ground as a dual-threat playmaker.

7. Tyler Van Dyke (Wisconsin)

8. Maverick McIvor (Abilene Christian)

Two-time transfer Maverick McIvor is looking to make a jump back into the FBS after spending the past three seasons at FCS Abilene Christian. The former three-star recruit initially played at Texas Tech for two seasons. In the past three years, McIvor has appeared in 35 games, throwing for 8,012 yards and 63 touchdowns with 21 interceptions. He also rushed for three additional scores on the ground. McIvor has one year of eligibility remaining.

9. Jaylen Henderson (Texas A&M)

Jaylen Henderson is another two-time transfer, but saw limited action at the past two seasons. He started the final four games of the 2023 campaign, but suffered an injury on the first drive of the Texas Bowl against Oklahoma State. Henderson did not play in 2024. He completed 53 of 78 passes for 715 yards and six touchdowns with two interceptions in an Aggies uniform. A Californianative, Henderson spent two seasons at Fresno State to begin his college career. He saw action in five games.

10. Tayven Jackson (Indiana)

Former Top247 quarterback prospect Tayven Jackson never quite found his spot at Indiana. In two seasons with the Hoosiers, Jackson appeared in 13 games, throwing for 1,263 yards and six touchdowns with six interceptions. He did make six starts, including one in 2024 for an injured Kurtis Rourke. Jackson started his college career at Tennessee where he appeared in three games. The former four-star recruit has two years of eligibility remaining.
