Coating & Casting: Rectangle or Square Calculator
What are the dimensions of your project?
1/16" or 0.0625 recommended for seal coats
1/8" or 0.125 recommended for flood coating
1/16" = 0.0625 | 1/8" = 0.125 | 1/4" = 0.25 | 3/8" = 0.375 |
1/2" = 0.50 | 5/8" = 0.625 | 3/4" = 0.75 | 7/8" = 0.875 |

How to Use our Epoxy Resin Calculators
It can be daunting to determine how much epoxy you’ll need for your epoxy project. That’s why we created a variety of calculators that will help you answer the question, “How much epoxy resin do I need?” We also have helpful calculators that you can use when mixing your epoxy resin by weight and volume.
Using our Epoxy Resin Volume Calculators
To get started take some basic measurements of your project. Measure the height, width and depth of your desired finished project. Enter your measurements into the calculator that most resembles the shape of your project. We know not all pieces are perfectly square, rectangular or circular, but you’ll be able to get a good idea of how much material you’ll need based on our calculator’s estimates.
A few depth references:
- For a seal coat you can use the calculators and estimate a depth of 1/16th inch. The ultimate amount of epoxy needed may differ based on the porosity of the material, dryness of wood, etc.
- Flood coats of Table Top Pro can vary slightly, but an estimate of 1/8th inch works well.
- For deeper pours make sure you’re using a product designed for that application like our Deep Pour Epoxy.
Using our Epoxy Resin Mix Ratio Calculators
Mix Ratio by Volume:
We design our systems to have easy to use mix ratios by volume. Using our graduated cups you can easily measure the epoxy you need without any other tools. The volume calculator above will tell you how many units of resin and hardener you’ll need based on total volume. Double check the volume mix ratio of your product and enter the total volume you need to find out how much resin and hardener you’ll measure. Check out our video tutorial below that details how to use our graduated cups.
Mix Ratio by Weight:
Alternatively you can measure your resin and hardener by weight. This is useful for very small or large projects where you can’t use our cups. Many repeat epoxy users measure by weight instead of volume so they can use any container as long as they have a scale on hand. Keep in mind the mix ratio by volume and weight are VERY DIFFERENT. Measuring the equivalent weights for a 1:1 mix ratio by volume product will not cure properly and can result in a sticky mess. Great news – we have a calculator here so you can avoid a lot of math when determining your epoxy needs.
To use the calculator, find the product that you are planning on using for the project. Enter the total weight of material that you’ll need and the calculator will tell you how much resin and hardener to measure when you’re ready to start your project.
