I’ve really enjoyed my time at URI. I have made great friends in my major of elementary education. I like the campus, it’s quite pretty. I’ve had a mix of fantastic, mediocre, and less than ideal professors, but generally they are alright. The most difficult thing I’ve experienced at URI has been parking. Taking the shuttle can be difficult with it getting full quickly and all. The classrooms in Chaffee are also quite depressing. The lack of windows makes the learning environment difficult. The surrounding buildings, like CBLS and the pharmacy building, are significantly nicer than Chaffee, where the majority of my classes are for my major.

Within this school, it has it's ups and downs that allowed an experience to differ regarding the individual. With this saying, the school heavily depends on the involvement within sororities and frats to make friends. Everyone is cliquy causing a division within friend groups or even events that are held. It's weird how they have a multicultural building yet it allows a seperation between groups at the same time. We have a major issue regarding racism and how the school handles it. I believe they can be better at advocating and implementing consequences of disrespecting other students due to their race. Instead, they give students warnings that allows them to still disrespects others without the actually facing of a consequence.
It is nice how the school is only twenty minutes from Narragansett, allowing the summer to be the perfect place to go to. The school in the summer and spring have the lively hood of everyone being outside which allows a small sense of community.

Before I committed to the University of Rhode Island, I felt drawn to it. I felt like I was supposed to go there and that I was going to love it there. I went on tours and attended different events held by the University of Rhode Island and every time I was there, I found myself smiling ear to ear, beyond excited to be able to call that place my home for the next four years. I love the energy that the University of Rhode Island brings. The students there are very passionate about what they do. My favorite part about the University of Rhode Island is that I can connect with people in my major, one on one, because we have the same classes together. Not only that, but everyone is so happy in my major. We can all connect on our love for animals. URI has an amazing animal science program. Nothing in this world is perfect, but URI is pretty close to it in my eyes.
